Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, admissions in the engineering will be taken based on 12th merits, instead of entrance examinations which were held before. Himachal Pradesh Technical University Hamirpur, has decided that the seats will be filled on the account of 12th merits. Engineering, BTech, B-Pharmacy, MBA, MCA, M-Pharmacy, MTech seats will be decided on the merit basis by the university administration as per the interest of students. Moreover, there’s been an option kept for the students, if, The JEE entrance examinations are conducted successfully in July, then 50 percent of seats will be selected from the JEE Main’s.
It is noteworthy, that the university had planned an online entrance examination more often happens for bank recruitments, but this decision had to be reversed after the problem of physical distancing during the online examinations at the computer centers and due to some suggestions, suggested by the educational authorities of the state.
The results of students appearing in the eighth semester of college will be declared before June 30.

This time there will be no general entrance examinations due to lockdown. Hence, college admissions will be based on merits only. It is targeted to declare the examination results of the 8th semester before June 30. At least fifteen days of practical and 20-day theory classes will be held after the lockdown opens.
